Abstract

This paper reports a software tool for biologists named Multiple Sequence editor 1 (MS1), we have developed on KANAE, a graphical user interface building tool running on UNIX with a X window system. MS1 is designed to be an intelligent user interface system for a loosely-coupled genetic information processing envilonment. The first experimental system provides automatic multiple alignment function, graphical analysis-support function for aligned sequences as well as interractive editing function.
