Abstract

A trial system to look up part of the GDB/OMIM data through Macintosh has been modeled using Mac based database software, 4th Dimension. As an initial attempt, entries having information on genes have been concerned when designing the system. In addition, relating OMIM entries and DNA databank entries have been planned to be incorporated into the system. Currently, 3,240 entries has been extracted out of 14,904 entire locus entries in the locus.dat file (Nov, 1992) using the 4th Dimension's function. STS (sequence tagged sites) and contig information will be included in the future.
