an outstation of Kyoto University Bioinformatics Center
[ English | Japanese ]

Sakagura VIL (Venture-business Incubation Laboratory) was founded as part of the Kyoto Biocity Project of the Kyoto City Government in order to promote bioinformatics venture businesses. Sakagura means a classical style brewery of sake, Japanese traditional rice wine. Here an old Sakagura building offered by Gekkeikan is converted into modern laboratories equipped with workstations and Intenet connections. One of them is an outstation of the Kyoto University Bioinformatics Center, the KEGG maker, providing technical supports and on-the-job training.
